non-fandom stuff
i’m a long-time old-school zinester — by which i mean the DIY zine culture that existed long before fandom zines became a polished, more commercialized thing. my first zinefest was in 2014; i’ve been at nearly every one in my city since, tabling first for myself, then for a small zine publication press i ran for a couple of years, then for a local non-profit. i’ve spoken on zine history panels.
outside of that, i’ve run merchandising for said non-profit for a few years now, bringing in 4-digit income on a regular basis. i do everything, pretty much: merch creation, including art and liaising with manufacturers, shipping, webstore development and maintenance, invoicing and subscription/refund management, shipping and logistics, etc etc.
i’ve done freelance paid art, copyediting, copywriting, and designing on local projects since my teens, and have been published in several anthologies, journals, and online publications as a poet, non-fiction and fiction writer. i’ve run social media for charities, had my art in local tv shows, my actual paid day job involves competency with digital accessibility and online stores. i’ve done a bunch of stuff, more or less!
